About Jeff Gosda
Founder of Linguae Academy, English tutor, and lifelong student of how people learn.

I'm Jeff Gosda, and I founded Linguae Academy to help people say what they mean in English, with confidence, precision and their own voice.
I studied law at New College, University of Oxford, where I developed a deep respect for academic rigor and clear expression. I also hold a degree in psychology, and I'm completing a master's in clinical mental health counseling with a 4.0 GPA. That training in how people think, feel and learn is at the center of how I teach. It's why I'm patient with students who are anxious, distracted or discouraged, and why I pay attention to confidence as well as correctness.
I'm TEFL-certified, and I've taught more than 1,500 lessons on Preply, where I'm a Super Tutor in the top 15% of English tutors.
Before teaching, I spent more than 17 years in senior leadership in healthcare, insurance and professional services, overseeing operations, quality and professional development. Leading international teams taught me how much clear, confident communication matters, and that's the skill I now help students build.
I've lived in France, the UK and several other countries, so I know what it means to adapt to a new language and culture. I speak French, some German, and I'm a beginner in Japanese and Mandarin.
Today I live on Virginia's Eastern Shore and teach students online across the United States and around the world.
